Liu Yangsheng, a Leading Expert on Investment, Joins Taihe Institute

On November 18, 2021, a special ceremony was held to welcome Mr. Liu Yangsheng as a senior fellow of Taihe Institute.
 
 
Mr. Liu Yangsheng, founder of HAO Capital, is now an independent investor in the area of energy conservation and emission reductions, and clean technology. Mr. Liu received his B.A. in Economics from Princeton University in 1972 and a J.D. degree from New York University in 1975.
 
In addition to serving in the United Nations over the course of more than a decade, Mr. Liu has presided over manifold transnational negotiations and global conferences on economy; he has played a leading role in the working concerns of the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
 
From 1991 to 1999, Mr. Liu served as managing director of Lazard Asia Limited, where he made significant contributions in terms of directing foreign enterprises and investment to China in the fields of telecommunication, finance, motor-vehicle production and infrastructure, among others.
 
 
With deep experience in providing advanced-consulting services for a range of Fortune 500 companies, in 2003, Mr. Liu chaired the Investment Committee of Applied Materials Inc., thus becoming the only Chinese director among all board members of Fortune 300 companies at that time.
 
The joining of Mr. Liu Yangsheng will further expand the research capability of Taihe Institute in the fields of finance, technology, and international relations, while tremendously providing consultancy to TI in its courses of international communications and cooperation.
