Delegation of the British Embassy in China Visits Taihe Institute

On February 10, 2022, Mr. Nishi Dholakia, Minister Counsellor for Economic, Environment and Trade Policy, Counsellor Mr. Thomas Burn, and Mr. Alex Wright, First Secretary for Trade Policy and Global Economics of the British Embassy in Beijing visited Taihe Institute (TI). The delegation held extensive in-depth discussions with TI senior fellows Mr. Jin Xu, Mr. Sun Yongfu, Mr. Xie Maosongand Mr. Qian Feng, as well as some of TI Executive Council members. Key points of discussion included opportunities and challenges posed by China-UK economic ties, and the respective roles of China and the UK in the international economic and trade system.
 
 
China is an important trading partner of the United Kingdom. The two partners seek common ground on overcoming global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical turbulence, as well as other issues of international concern. China and the UK are jointly and actively pursuing opportunities to deepen bilateral relations in trade, culture, education, technology and other key sectors of mutual interest.
